My Complaint Letter Written to GUESS:
Not a good expereince. Some of the staff are nice but some aren't I don't really like the store.
I was appalled by Dans poor behavior, attitude and poor customer service – someone whom I hope is not representative of Guess as a whole. I find it hard to believe that Guess would knowingly employ such a rude, abrasive, and unprofessional store manager – someone who is supposed to be setting a good example for the rest of the staff. Due to the way I was treated as a customer I have not and will not return to that particular store as I refuse to subject myself to that type of treatment. There are plenty of other stores selling similar merchandise who are willing to treat me as a customer should be treated.
On 6/9/2012 at 1:57pm I returned to the store to return the earrings. I was greeted and helped by a young woman named Ashley Woodlox, who was very pleasant and more than happy to help. She began ringing up my return with my original receipt after I explained the problem, when Dan Lyons walked over behind the counter, snatched the receipt from her hands asking ‘what’s the problem’. When I explained that the earrings that I purchased (still in the original packaging) were damaged, he said all pierced earrings are final sale. When I explained to him, Ashley was already helping me, and she understood the earrings were damaged when purchased – I had to now explain the issue twice. Not only was he rude, he then looked at me, and asked again ‘what’s the problem’ as if I was bothering him and wasting his time. I pointed to the unsottered hoop, holding them up – showing them exactly what was wrong with them. He then repeated, ‘what’s the problem’. When I held them up to show him, yet again, (which was extremely evident to anyone who was paying attention) –yet again he said ‘what’s the problem’. He just kept repeating himself as if expecting a different response. He then snapped, ‘well all earrings are final sales’. I explained to him, that when he sold them to me on 5/17 I asked if they didn’t work with what I was purchasing them for can they be returned with my receipt, and his answer was yes. He then read the receipt, and when he realized it was him who sold them to me and remembered the conversation; he tossed the receipt back at Ashley and walked away not saying a word. Ashley was herself embarrassed and apologetic for his behavior and returned my item. I don’t foresee your store wanting to be known for selling damaged merchandised and then refusing to return it.
On 5/17/2012 at 5:50pm at the Guess store in Bridgewater Commons Mall (store #5575) I purchased a pair of earrings from, who I’ve now learned to be, the store manager Dan Lyons. Dan, who rung up my purchase was rude and somewhat abrasive throwing my receipt in the bag and tossing my bag on the counter after my purchase was completed and walked away. I originally was not going to write a complaint because he’s young, and based on his attitude it was somewhat expected. When I went to wear the earrings I noticed that they were damaged (and a small hoop was not sottered securely and opened up).
