For my first visit, I wish customer service was a bit better. There was one other customer there at the time that needed to order, so it's not like they were busy.
The coffee station was sort of behind the counter, and I was confused about it being self serve or not, and if I get my own cup or not, and I know I looked confused when I ordered it, because I didn't know what size to ask for.. the girl server should have explained to me how it works, or at least say something like "ok, help yourself to the coffee station and let us know what you choose". There was a self serve sign hidden near the ceiling, mixed with the rest of the decorations on the walls, so it was hard to see.
Need to update prices online. I think my sandwich was $2 more than what the menu online says. $13 for a crappy sandwich, small and weak/ watered down coffee, bag of chips and a sticky chocolate muffin.
Always an incredible experience there! The owners and staff are awesome and the food is always incredible! I highly recommend!!
We've been going there maybe a year or so getting a dozen bagels every few weeks. I am sure they know us by face, but every week same unkind service at the front desk. No smile very rude. We will prob stop going there soon. We can't deal with that anymore. I mean we have done nothing but buying their bagels.
The owner wasn't there this time, but his wife was, and she was completely different as far as costumer service was concerned. Every time I spoke with her she was rude to a minor degree. With one instance I would consider it a misunderstanding on my part, but with several instances I could tell that she was being passive aggressive with me.
$10 minimum for credit or debit, (which is illegal I belive so) .. I was forced to spend more than I wanted to.
Fast but unfriendly service. Macaroni Salad was sour (definitely expired.. I had to spit it out!) Corned Beef was minimal and didn't even fill me up! Definatly not fresh meat. Plus, lots of chuncks of fat on it, and barely any swiss cheese (I really had to look hard for the cheese).
I should have gotten a bagel. Great selection of flavors. Curious if they are fresh though.
After thinking about it for a while, I decided to respectfully call and complain about the costumer service that I received. Lo and behold, the owner's wife answered the phone. Despite the fact that I tried to use a respectful tone, she immediately protested against my complaint. She excused herself by telling me that it was very busy (No, no it wasn't, I was the only one in the line and only about 8 other people were at the tables). Instead of apologizing, she tells me (to paraphrase), "what happened happened and nothing will change that." When she asked what I wanted to be done about it, I told her that all I wanted was an apology. She proceeded to give me the most evidently insincere apology ever, and then she tries to hang up the phone after saying "have a nice day," also in an insincere tone. Before she hung up, I managed to say to her, "see, I don't think you are sorry," which really annoyed her. She told me that out of a thousand customers that day, I was the only one who was unhappy with their service. The owner's wife ended the conversation by telling me (to paraphrase), "don't come back or come back it doesn't matter, have a nice day," and then she hung up the phone.
I went a few weeks ago and had an excellent experience. The food was very delicious and the owner was very nice and gave great costumer service. So because of this, I went back again a few days ago.
Having worked in customer service myself before, I not only can sympathize about the job, but I also understand how customer service works. I know that even when it's busy you're supposed to keep your wits about yourself and provide good customer service anyway. Also, if a customer ever complains about anything, you approach their complaint as respectfully as possible, REGARDLESS of whether or not you think that they're in the wrong. I will not be returning to the cafe again.
Also, I had to ask for mustard for my corned beef and swiss on rye..which I had to come back for (And this sandwich shouldn't be under the menu as "over stuffed sandwiches"). The girl behind the counter looked annoyed when I asked for the mustard, but she was quick about it. I just grabbed a staw for my mustard application, since there wasn't any plasticware visible, and I didn't want to annoy someone again. I really shouldn't feel like I annoyed anyone because I expect good service when I order food and they should be happy to give that. There is a top bucket.. Better service and perwonality, or a to least a "thank you, have a good day" might fill that bucket up a little bit more.
Great peoples , good food n great atmosphere.
